Madeeha heads the Employment Law department.
She qualified as a Solicitor in 2005. Following qualification, she began working for a successful satellite channel as their In-House Solicitor, where she set up and managed their legal department for more than 5 years.
In 2011, Madeeha went on to study a Masters in Law at SOAS with a particular focus on Islamic Law and Human Rights, in which she achieved a Distinction.
Madeeha joined Harding Mitchell Solicitors in September 2012, where she currently Heads the Employment Law department. She advises both Claimants and Respondents in employment matters and has been successful in settling claims for whistleblowing, discrimination, and unfair dismissal. In 2014, she settled a case against a well-known pharmaceutical company for unfair dismissal and discrimination.
Madeeha is currently involved in Civil Litigation cases, involving Multi Jurisdictional issues and Class Actions. She also advises on cases of Professional Negligence, Police Action, Personal Injury and Debt Recovery. In 2015, she settled a case against a major bank in the UK.
Madeeha continues work in Media Law, with a focus on the needs of television channels that require legal advice in various aspects of the law including Intellectual Property, and the Ofcom Broadcasting Codes.
She also advises client’s on Islamic Law, in particular on Islamic Wills and Islamic Inheritance. On a weekly basis, Madeeha provides Pro Bono advice at the Citizen’s Advice Bureau in Battersea and Paddington. She also appears on a satellite channel as a regular guest on their legal show.
Madeeha speaks Urdu fluently and is currently learning Arabic.
